Matt has studied Philosophy, Farsi, Theater, and New Media in the US. He first met Kris Kristinsson while working as a carpenter in the Japanese countryside. He currently works and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Pietro Sibille was relatively unknown during the shooting of Ruta del Jaca, but was elected "Best Peruvian Actor" for his role in "Dias de Santiago". Pietro is now one of the most sought after actors in Peru.
Rosalinda acts as herself, an innocent Indian girl from the countryside. At home she doesn't speak English but the native language, Quechua. As in the movie, she is a big fan of the music of Sonia Morales. Ruta del Jaca is her debut as an actress.
Superbly acts in his first film as himself, a friendly hotel owner from a small Andean town. He doesn't remember the parents of Matt who sent their last letter from his hotel before they got killed. In the real world Kris lived in Julio Ortiz' hotel for six months while living in Huaraz. The story was clearly inspired by that experience.
